Nomad Bathroom Needs. What to Expect

When you're renting a fully furnished home, there are some things you can expect to be provided and some things you will need to bring yourself. Here are our recommendations on what you should bring with you to make your stay more comfortable, and others you shouldn’t have to worry about.

Bring:

  • Toiletries: Homeowners rarely provide basic toiletries beyond hand soap, so be sure to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

  • Pet Towel: If you have a pet, bring a towel specifically for cleaning them off. This will save your deposit and your nice bathroom towels.

  • Hair Dryer and Styling Tools: Hair dryers are not always provided in mid-term rentals, so bring your own just in case.

  • Cleaning Products: You'll need to bring your own cleaning supplies, such as disinfectant wipes, toilet bowl cleaner, and a sponge or brush, for regular cleaning.

  • Washcloth/Loofa/Net Cloth: Some locations may not include washcloths, so bring your own if you prefer to use them.

  • Toilet Paper: While the first roll may be provided, be prepared to supply your own for the rest of your stay.

Don't Bring:

  • Towels: Bath and hand towels should be provided, even if they may not be the quality you're used to.

  • Plunger and Toilet Brush: Don't bring these items with you, but ask the homeowner to provide them if they're not already in the home.

  • Bath Mat, Shower Curtain, and Liner: These items are usually included unless the shower is glass.

  • Trash Can: This should already be provided.

  • Entire Beauty Collection: Travel with your makeup, lotions, and creams, but try to be mindful of how much space and weight they take up. Wait to buy replacements until you're running low.

Optional:

  • Compact Bathroom Caddy: If you want to keep your toiletries organized, bring a compact caddy or ask the homeowner if they have one you can use.

  • Shower Mat: Older showers/tubs may be slippery, so consider bringing a shower mat for safety.

  • Bidet: If you know, you know. If you don’t, you’re missing out.
